Exponential has been named Omega Alpha Canadian Event Horse of the Month for September.
As the top placed Canadian horse at the CCI 3* Blenheim International Three Day Event in Woodstock, Oxon, England, Exponential, an 11-year-old Canadian Thoroughbred gelding was the easy choice for this month's honour. Jessica Phoenix of Cannington, ON, is his 25-year-old owner and rider.
At the event held September 10-13th, Exponential and Phoenix finished 24th out of extremely high caliber field of 80 starters. They began with a dressage score of 54.4 dressage penalty points and added just 17.2 cross country time penalties, over a course which saw only six riders jump clear within the time, and had two rails in show jumping to finish on a score of 79.6 penalty points.
"Exponential has been one of the most rewarding horses I have ever worked with. He is so enthusiastic and loves his job," said Phoenix. "England was his first flight, and he was a bit worried on the way there. On the way home he acted like he was a world traveller and was as relaxed as can be."
"It is very generous of Omega Alpha to sponsor this important award," added Phoenix.
